Winter lights

This year, our Royal Mail Diversity & Inclusion networks are collaborating to celebrate the various winter holidays and celebration events coming up over the new few weeks.
The ‘Winter light’ celebrations include: Bonfire Night, Diwali, Winter solstice, Thanksgiving, Tree Dressing Day, Hanukkah, and Christmas.
During this difficult time, with a second national lockdown almost upon us, we know that Covid-19 restrictions will have a significant impact on the way colleagues plan to celebrate the coming holidays, perhaps preventing us from doing some of the things we’ve traditionally done in previous years. Given this, it’s more important than ever to focus on the positives this year and do everything we can to keep the holiday spirit going.
As part of our Winter light celebrations, we want to see how colleagues celebrate their special dates, the aim being to help others learn more about some of the festivities they may not be familiar with or accustomed to.
We’d love for you to get involved, so please, share your festive stories. We want to hear from colleagues explaining how they’re going to celebrate, compared to how they traditionally celebrate. We’re particularly keen to hear from colleagues planning to get involved for the first time, for example, if someone wants to help with cooking Diwali treats for the first time, send us some recipes so we can encourage them to start practising!
In addition, if you’d like to send in a photo of your holiday decorations, or maybe a video of you doing a traditional dance, anything is welcome! Just send your content to inclusion@royalmail.com. Please send any videos via MoveIt to inclusion@royalmail.com.
