Championing excellence

Thank you to everyone who took part in our 2020 Black History Month celebrations

Throughout Black History Month, we celebrated our amazing former and current black colleagues, as well as notable black Britons who have featured on our Special Stamps.

We asked colleagues to nominate people in their teams, who they thought should be recognised as an outstanding role model to others. Thank you to all who took part in our 2020 Black History Month recognition campaign, helping us to bring you their stories and highlight just what it is that makes them so special.

All the colleague profiles we published on myroyalmail.com also appeared on our dedicated Black History Month homepage.

Building greater awareness that our BAME network exists and is there to support our people and shine a light on all the positive things we are doing across the business, remains a priority.

Supporting our BAME colleagues

Career progression is a key focus as we work towards improving the representation of colleagues from BAME backgrounds across all levels of the business.

Are you a BAME colleague with ambitions to develop professionally and progress your career with Royal Mail? Would you like to grow in confidence and achieve your goals with guidance from a trained mentor? Aimed at BAME frontline staff and first line managers, the BAME network is launching the third internal BAME Mentoring Circles programme in February 2021.

To reduce the potential transmission of coronavirus, the 2021 scheme will take place in a virtual environment. If you want to find out more about the programme, or you are thinking about holding a BAME cultural event in your unit, and need some help, please email BAME@royalmail.com.
