Fit for the future

Your latest issue of Courier has begun landing at homes from today

In your latest issue of Courier, out now, we look at how falling letter volumes and the continued growth of parcels means we’re having to review the financial sustainability of the Universal Service.

We’re working with the regulator, Ofcom, and the Government, on how to ensure the Universal Service best meets customer needs in the future.

Keith Williams, interim executive chair, said: ‘One thing is very clear – we remain committed to the universal, affordable, “one price goes anywhere” nature of the USO. Times may have changed a lot, but there remains a vitally important role in UK society for Royal Mail.’

Also in the issue:

  • Rise of the returns – e-commerce growth in lockdown reflected in surging returns volumes.
  • Be part of it – colleagues share their ideas on how we can make our business better.
  • Who We Are – celebrating all the people who make our business so special.
  • Driven to succeed – three delivery offices receive a VW Caddy van upgrade as a thank you.

And finally, West Swindon postman, Paul Gibbons has been presented with an award by his local MP for helping an isolating customer in need during lockdown.
