Driven to succeed

Northwood, Rottingdean and Lewisham delivery offices each received an upgraded fleet in the form of brand new VW Caddy vans as a thank you for going above and beyond during the first wave of the pandemic.

Stuart Murphy, senior fleet operations manager supporting the South Zone, organised for service delivery leaders to nominate offices that had done everything in their power to continue to deliver for our customers.

After receiving several nominations, these three offices were selected based on measures including safety and customer KPIs.

‘Because of the initial one person, one van policy, colleagues at these delivery offices walked, caught buses, cycled – whatever it took to reach their first delivery point – where another colleague would be waiting in the van,’ said Stuart.

‘This was our way of saying thank you to three units that have received fantastic feedback from people who really appreciated their mail being delivered.’

Each delivery office is receiving a number of new VW Caddy vans to replace the older model currently in service on site.

Rottingdean postman Paul Jones said, ‘It feels great that our office has been chosen – it’s a nice reflection of our hard work.’
