Commemorative wreaths

The First World War embroiled most of the nations of Europe along with Russia, the United States, the Middle East and other regions, in a conflict with unprecedented levels of carnage and destruction.
During the war, Royal Mail was part of the General Post Office (GPO) and our people were integral to the war effort.
Colleagues who would like to commemorate those who gave their lives for their country can request support from the business to hold services on Wednesday 11 November – Remembrance Day. We can provide a wreath along with a suggested agenda as well as some readings for a memorial service (on the basis that any relevant local and national social distancing measures are adhered to).
If you would like to hold a memorial or a two-minute silence, please discuss your request with your manager. Once approved, you can email our community team at community@royalmail.com with your contact details and site address. In order for us to organise the delivery of a wreath to your site, please send your request by Friday 30 October.
Our head of corporate responsibility and community investment, Lily Heinemann, said: ‘We're very proud to support our people who wish to remember colleagues who died in the First World War and others.’
