Stopping the spread

Additional guidelines and restrictions have been introduced across the UK aimed at trying to stop the spread of coronavirus.
The UK’s coronavirus alert level has been upgraded from 3 to 4, meaning transmission is ‘high or rising exponentially.’
These developments underline how important it is that all colleagues observe all existing and newly introduced preventative measures, ensuring we all play our part in helping to prevent the spread of coronavirus and keep ourselves, our colleagues and our customers safe.
Key preventative advice and NHS Test and Trace
As we are seeing a rapid increase in cases of Covid-19 in the UK, it is important to be reminded of the key preventative public health guidance and temporary operational measures in place.
The best way colleagues can protect themselves is by following public health advice. There are three simple actions three simple actions (pdf, 5.81 MB) we must all do to keep protecting each other:
- Wash your hands: Keep washing your hands regularly – hand hygiene remains the simplest and most important protection against Covid-19.
- Cover your face: Wear a face covering outside work where required and where identified by a risk assessment in work – masks must cover both your mouth and nose.
- Make space: Social distancing guidelines for all parts of the operation must be adhered to.
Remember to follow this guidance outside of work as well as in work.
It is important that all colleagues understand the clear guidance if they have coronavirus symptoms and/or if they have been in close contact with someone who tests positive and have been alerted by NHS Test and Trace.
