Protecting you and others

The NHS Covid-19 app will launch on Thursday 24 September in England and Wales, including QR check-in at venues.
The aim of the app is to close the contact tracing gap amongst individuals who don't know each other. If you are in contact with someone who later tests positive for coronavirus, the app will be able to alert you and provide instructions on what to do.
Equally, if you develop symptoms and test positive, the app can be used to alert others you might have been in contact with that they are potentially at risk.
One of the features that will be included in the app is the ability to scan a QR code when you visit a venue. This will form part of the contact tracing system and these codes can be scanned through the app.
QR codes will be an important way for individuals to record their movements helping the NHS Test and Trace system.
More information is available here. Similar apps are already live in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
All colleagues are encouraged to participate in any request to scan a QR code using the app when visiting premises during work, however participation is down to your own personal choice.
