‘Incredibly grateful’

Thank you to all those who boycotted their bed last month in aid of Action for Children

On Friday 21 August, colleagues from across Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide took part in our Boycott your Bed event in aid of our charity partner, Action for Children.

Colleagues packed away their pillows and banished their blankets, choosing instead to find an unusual place in (or out!) of their homes to bed down for the night. From bathtubs to workout benches, from sleeping with your guitar collection to seeking refuge on a very windy mountainside, you made it happen.

Colleagues were entertained on the night with an exclusive set from Pixie Lott and a trivia round led by the brilliant Ed Byrne.

The fundraising totals are now in…colleagues raised more than £14,000! (including matched giving) – a staggering sum that will be going towards Action for Children’s pioneering Blues Programme, supporting youth mental health across the UK.

Thanks to Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide, over 5,000 young people have now taken part in the Blues Programme, providing them with the tools they need in support of their mental health, both now and in the future.

Locks Farmer, director of fundraising and marketing at Action for Children, said: ‘We are incredibly grateful to Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide employees for taking part in Boycott your Bed last month and helping us to raise vital funds during these challenging times.

‘We are absolutely delighted to have raised £276,595 so far, which we will use to support vulnerable children and young people across the UK. Thank you so much for all your support!’
