DHL Parcel UK scales up parcel operations with two new depots

DHL Parcel UK has snapped up two new warehouses in Southampton and Dinnington, South Yorkshire, to act as parcel depots as it continues to target e-commerce growth.

The Southampton site at Alpha Park comprises of 78,000 sq ft of warehouse space and 6,000 sq ft of office space. The deal is estimated to be worth £8m, with DHL taking the space on a 10-year lease.

The Dinnington site at Atomic Park will be DHL Parcel UK’s second parcel distribution facility in the area, with 78,000 sq ft of warehousing space. DHL has applied for a licence to operate 15 trucks from the site.

DHL Parcel UK is the rebranded UK Mail business that was acquired by Deutsche Post DHL Group in 2016. The UK business has a national network of more than 50 sites and 2,000 vehicles and last year announced plans to invest £6.7m in an upgrade to its fleet of trucks and trailers to gain additional handling capacity to support future growth.
