Teddy bears' picnic

If you go down to the woods today...

Like so many charities at the moment, Action for Children has seen their funds reduce over the past few months, while demand for the invaluable support they offer has increased.

With that in mind, Medway community champion Tim Hyde is organising a virtual ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ in aid of our charity partner, with the chance to win £100 of Next vouchers on offer.

‘We are hosting a virtual Teddy Bears' Picnic on Wednesday 12 August,’ said Tim. ‘The principle is simple… we’re asking colleagues to donate a minimum of £1 and send in a photo of their teddy bear.

‘Obviously, the photo isn’t compulsory, but all donations are very welcome! Your pictures will be made into a video and/or a poster, and a winning bear enjoying their picnic will be picked at random.

‘The winner will receive £100 of Next vouchers. If you would like to donate or join in, please click here and send your photos to tim.hyde@royalmail.com or via WhatsApp to 07771 852 934 (with the name of the entrant). Just to get you all in the mood, above is a photo of my grandson with his teddy bears getting ready for a picnic!

‘All proceeds will be donated to Action for Children and all money will be matched by Royal Mail. If you tick the Gift Aid box, this will mean that for every £1 donated with gift aid added, Action for Children will receive £2.25. This is a great chance to support the Blues Programme, Action for Children’s pioneering mental health programme for young people. Thanks for all your support!’
