Do you have friends or family who want to earn a little extra this Christmas?

With Christmas a mere five months away, it’s soon going to be time to launch our recruitment campaign for Christmas casuals and this year sees some exciting changes!

As we get busier and busier towards our Peak season, we’ll be reopening our temporary Christmas roles to invite all your friends and family to join us, sorting letters and parcels around the country.

Our focus has been on digitalising and simplifying our application and offer process, giving a much-improved overall experience for our candidates and operational colleagues.

Gone are the mass registration events and manual document checking as we now have a digital platform where applicants are guided through the simple application form. After uploading their documents digitally, final verification is completed through a new partnership with the Post Office. Offers are also made digitally, saving valuable time and paper.

This year, we are giving priority access to apply to friends and family and those who worked with us last year. Working with Royal Mail throughout Christmas is an exciting experience. We welcome applications from a diverse range of sectors, age ranges and backgrounds. We are also proud to be a disability-confident employer.

David Williams – Belfast

‘I worked as a Royal Mail Christmas casual at your Mallusk depot for four weeks prior to Christmas last year, and then for two weeks into the new year.

‘I found the whole experience very rewarding and I met loads of lovely people. My two line managers were very pleasant and helpful and took the time to explain how the whole system works from when a letter/parcel is received until it’s delivered to a customer’s home. I’m hoping to return this Christmas.’

Whoever you are, and wherever you come from, we want you on our team this Christmas. Our new online process is clear, simple, and easy to book onto, and we are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

If you have friends or family who want to earn a little extra this Christmas, please ask them to email friendsandfamily@royalmail.com for advance notification of our roles. Here they can register their details for a priority link. When they receive the link, they need to complete our short application form by 13 September to get their application underway.

We are keen to get early feedback on our new process and the overall experience, so if you are recommending anyone please let them know!
