'Be your best'

The annual winners of the 2019/20 CEO and COO Awards have been announced. Co-sponsored by CEO, Stuart Simpson, and COO, Achim Dünnwald, the awards recognise and reward excellence in our operational units.
Forest Gate Delivery Office is this year’s proud winner of the ‘Small Delivery Office of the Year’ award.
CEO Stuart Simpson and national service delivery director, Ricky McAulay, paid an early morning visit to the team to present them with the award, as well as a giant cheque for £25,000, a commemorative wall plaque, gold lanyards and winners’ pin badges.
‘The pandemic has obviously had a significant impact, like everywhere, particularly with the parcel volumes. It has been hard as ordinarily, we mainly have trolley walks here. But we’ve all coped admirably, and I’ve also been going out every day on delivery to help.
‘Stuart and Ricky’s visit here was great. They were both really impressed with the atmosphere in the office. It was a really good morning and one that everyone in the unit I’m sure, won’t forget.
‘This past year has been amazing. I really enjoy working in this team – we have a great bunch of people here. The best advice I would offer is to love your job, know your stuff, work as a team, learn to strive and be your best.’
Postwoman of 33 years, Diane Minchington, said: ‘I thought it was a real honour to receive such a lovely award for all our hard work. It really meant the world to me.’
The CEO and COO Awards take place throughout the year at quarterly intervals, with prizes awarded to the highest achieving units at the end of the year.
