Ballad of Sean Baggott

Hull postman, poet and self-proclaimed Beatlemaniac, Sean Baggott, has penned the below tribute to his beloved ‘Fab Four.’
But this isn’t just any old piece of scribbled verse. In the ultimate paean to a band he says has ‘enriched his life greatly,’ Sean has managed to list no less than 47 of his favourite Beatles tracks within the lines.
‘I’m a lifelong Beatles fan, as are my entire family,’ said Sean. ‘I’m 38 now and they always have, and I suspect always will, give me so much pleasure and joy.
‘From an early age I’ve always been into writing. Although I will never be a Lennon or a McCartney, I enjoy it and it keeps me out of mischief!
‘This time, I thought I would try something a little different and talk about my experiences during the coronavirus, but with a twist, using some of my favourite Beatles tracks. I managed to get in 47! I posted it on the Beatles fan page online and received some positive feedback.’
Another Day in the Life, I hope you’ve all had a Good Morning after the Rain Yesterday.
It’ll be great when we can look outside and say it’s Getting Better because Here Comes the Sun and I Will certainly be saying I Feel Fine and not I’m Down all the time!
It’s been great at work when people say: ‘Hey Mister Postman’ or ‘Hello, Goodbye’ - Something which hasn’t happened too much In My Life, so it’s nice that they Don’t Pass Me By.
I tell people It Won’t Be Long until we Get Back to normal as really, in reality, Tomorrow Never Knows so, the best thing to do is Let It Be.
Getting to work has been a bit of a struggle to be honest. I can never seem to work out the bus timetable. One of the drivers said I need the 9.10. I said: ‘The 9.10?’
‘Yes,’ he said. ‘The One After 909.’ My mate said: ‘You can Drive My Car,’ but changed his mind, saying: ‘You Never Give Me Your Money!’
This Boy is getting through this Long and Winding Road, With a Little Help From My Friends and I’m looking forward to seeing my dad next week for his Birthday and my mum of course, because She’s a Woman, And I Love Her although I hope I won’t be hungover the next day having had too much to drink The Night Before.
But I’ve Got a Feeling and I want to tell you all a quick message From Me to You that in The End if we all Help each other and Come Together, We Can Work It Out and eventually we’ll one day be Free as a Bird again. So, stay happy folks and always remember, All You Need is Love.
I went to a house the other day on delivery. I knocked on the door and a lady answered. She said: ‘Here let me help you, you must be so tired having to Carry That Weight in your bag all day.’
She shouted up to her son ‘Hey Jude,’ come down and help this lovely postman. He said: ‘Mum, what have I told you - when I’m upstairs playing on my Playstation with my friends? Don’t Bother Me, because if you do, next time, they’ll be No Reply.’
‘Ey, Cheeky. That’s not very nice,’ she said. ‘Come here. Do You Want to Know a Secret? You Can’t Do That. That behaviour’s not good enough.’
‘Yes It Is Mum,’ he said. I felt so awkward. I felt like saying: ‘Can you do this later, you know, When I Get Home?’
My daughter’s completely different. It’s such a shame as She’s Leaving Home in September to start university. It’s going to be so difficult when she does and it’s just the Two of Us. She said: ‘Don’t worry mum I’ll Be Back home for the Christmas holidays.
