Worksop winners

CEO and COO Award for going above and beyond goes to Worksop Delivery Office

The annual winners of the 2019/20 CEO and COO Awards have been announced. Co-sponsored by CEO, Stuart Simpson, and COO, Achim Dünnwald, the awards recognise and reward excellence in our operational units.

The CEO and COO Awards take place throughout the year at quarterly intervals, with prizes awarded to the highest achieving units at the end of the year.

Worksop Delivery Office, this year’s proud winners of the special award for ‘Going Above and Beyond,’ received a visit from Achim to receive their prizes of gold lanyards, pin badges, a special commemorative plaque and celebration breakfast.

In November 2019, the Worksop colleagues responded to devastating floods that hit the area, demonstrating huge resilience and determination to keep delivering to our customers.

Jack Mitchell, operations manager for East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, said: ‘This is a great bit of recognition for the team in Worksop.

‘It was dreadful in November with the floods – this is their community. They were flooded, the office was condemned and the whole of their fleet was wiped out.

‘But they operated out of Dinnington and got their service back on track incredibly quickly. The team just crack on and that’s just how the people of Worksop are.

‘There’s almost a “vibe” when you walk into the office. People work together. They respect management and there’s a good, open and honest relationship between colleagues and their managers.’

A huge congratulations to all our best performing 2019/20 CEO and COO award-winning units. They include:

  • Large Delivery Office of the Year: Goldsworth Park Delivery Office

  • National Operations Unit of the Year: Yorkshire Distribution Centre
