Thank your heroes

Send a card and deliver a smile with Hallmark’s free card pack

We're working with Hallmark UK & Ireland who are giving away half a million greeting cards with a mission to help show gratitude and appreciation for the heroes in our lives.

Who are the heroes in your world? Reaching out is more important now than ever before, so keep showing you care by letting that special someone know you’re thinking of them. Remember, if there was ever a time our world needed heroes, it’s now.

Hallmark’s free card packs contain three cards: one that reads ‘You are so amazing,’ one with an illustration of helping hands forming a heart shape, which reads: ‘What you do matters,’ and a Crayola card for kids to colour in, which reads: ‘Not all heroes wear capes.’

The emotional significance of the written word during lockdown has been made clear by our latest study, which reveals that one in five (18 per cent) UK adults have been sending more letters and cards since the lockdown measures began. Nearly three quarters (74 per cent) of Britons also feel that writing letters has positive mental health benefits.

David Gold, director of public affairs and policy, said: ‘Handwritten cards and letters are a really powerful way of connecting and showing a special someone that you care; particularly during these difficult and sometimes isolating times.

‘Keeping the nation connected is of vital importance to us, so we’re delighted to partner with Hallmark for this initiative.’
