Take the first step

If you’re struggling financially, the Rowland Hill Fund is here to help

We understand that many colleagues are continuing to face financial challenges as a result of coronavirus.

We have provided a substantial contribution to our in-house charity, the Rowland Hill Fund (RHF) to help support colleagues who are struggling financially.

The Fund has already provided a range of support measures. But we recognise that even with these measures, some of our employees have been financially affected as a result of the pandemic.

The RHF offers financial aid to current and former Royal Mail employees. The Fund offers grants when bills become increasingly difficult to meet, because of unforeseen or changed circumstances such as illness. It can also help towards rent, mortgage and utility bill arrears, disability aids, home modifications, hospital travelling expenses, funeral expenses, white goods, heating/boiler repairs and much more.

Help from the Fund may be available where:

  • You are on significantly reduced pay or unpaid leave due to childcare and are unable to secure a school place.
  • You are on significantly reduced pay or unpaid leave due to having to care for a dependant who has been identified as vulnerable or extremely vulnerable in line with NHS notifications.
  • You are on significantly reduced or unpaid sick leave due to a historic sick absence combined with a current absence due to covid-19 sickness or enforced isolation based on NHS notifications.

To apply to the Fund, you must:

  • Be working for or retired from Royal Mail, Parcelforce or Post Office
  • Have savings of less than £12K
  • Have worked for one of the businesses for six months
  • Be aware that we do not pay off credit card debts
