Coronavirus continues to bring many challenges. In the latest RMtv programme, we look at how coronavirus is impacting the UK economy.

The impact of coronavirus on our future is becoming increasingly apparent. The Bank of England has warned that the UK is heading for its sharpest recession on record. In April alone, the UK economy shrank 20.4 per cent – the largest monthly contraction on record.

‘What we’re seeing in the operation is a continued decline in letters, but a phenomenal growth in parcels – almost like Peak volumes,’ said Ricky.

‘I believe some of that parcel growth will continue. But it will only continue and be in our network if we make the investments we need to automate our parcels and set up our delivery units to deal with the parcel volumes we’re seeing. That’s an opportunity we can’t afford to miss.’
