April trading and business performance
The COVID-19 pandemic is a big problem for businesses. And we’re no exception.
Driven by online shopping, UK parcel volumes are up 31 per cent. Revenue is up 20 per cent.
UK addressed letter volumes are down 33 per cent (308 million items). Revenue has fallen 23 per cent. Overall, UK revenue was down £22 million in our April trading period alone.
We have to take action quickly. In the coming weeks, we will be engaging with key stakeholders on a package of potential measures for the UK business.
We will provide an update about the main measures at our Full Year Results 2019-20.
