Here today, gone tomato

‘Crust me, they were amazing!’ said Seaford’s Tim Hill

As far as lunchtime giveaways go, Domino’s surprise gift to Seaford Delivery Office takes some topping.

The team at Seaford were so impressed by their totally unexpected, but more than welcome, delivery that delivery office manager, Tim Hill, penned the company a letter of thanks.

‘On behalf of all my team at Seaford Delivery Office, I just wanted to say a huge thanks to you all for the delicious hot and fresh pizzas you delivered to the office yesterday,’ wrote Tim.

‘If your aim was to ‘surprise and delight’, you certainly achieved just that. My team couldn’t believe their luck on return from delivery yesterday morning. The pizzas went down a treat and everyone was sincerely grateful. You really couldn’t have picked a better day to acknowledge their efforts after a cold and wet delivery round! We even ensured a member of staff forced to shield at home got some and it cheered him up no end.

‘Thanks to all at Domino’s for the very thoughtful gesture, not least the obvious high regard you hold key workers in during these unprecedented times. We were so pleased to hear your generosity extends to the NHS and other emergency services, so keep up the good work surprising others. You raised a lot of heads yesterday, initiated some good cheer in the office and we are so grateful for your generosity.’

Postman, Jason Bond, said: ‘After all the hard work over the past few weeks and, on what was a very chilly day, it was a wonderful surprise to return to the office after delivery and be given a nice hot slice of pizza. Thumbs up to Domino’s for thinking of us during this difficult time!’

After the Government extended the UK lockdown, Domino’s Pizza Group said they wanted to show support for the range of different key worker groups keeping the country going, with a delivery of £1 million worth of free pizza - every week from Monday 20 April until Sunday 10 May.

The ‘Pizza for Heroes’ campaign saw Domino’s choose Royal Mail sites at random to surprise colleagues across the UK. The RMtv cameras have been at Lincoln Delivery Office to see colleagues fuelling on pizza– so, stay tuned!
