Congratulations to the team at Preston South Delivery Office

Congratulations to the team at Preston South Delivery Office, winners of the CEO and COO Award for ‘Large Delivery Office of the Quarter’ in Q2.

The quarterly awards scheme is based on the units that score most highly across four key areas of performance measurement: safety, First Class quality, cost and productivity.

At the end of the year, we'll be presenting awards to the overall 'units of the year,' recognising the best performing units nationally. Winners will receive money to spend at their unit.

After Cumbria service delivery leader, Ady Fielding, presented the award to delivery office manager, Martin Blackburn and the team, Martin said: ‘We’re a top-class office who work really well together as a team.

‘There’s excellent interaction between all of us, both in the work environment, and from a social point of view outside of work. From a managerial perspective, it’s a real pleasure to work with them.

‘Everyone was delighted to win the reward with the team being able to see something tangible for all the hard work and dedication they have put into the unit.’

Postwoman, Wendy Rogerson, said: ‘It’s a really well organised and well operated unit,’ while postwoman Abbie Clark, said: ‘Teamwork makes the dream work here at Preston South.’

Postman, Eddie Hobson aka ‘Rock Steady Eddie,’ said: ‘It’s a great office with really good morale. In fact, it’s the best place I’ve ever worked at.’

Postwoman, Rebecca Preece, agreed: ‘It’s a nice place to work. It’s a friendly and happy place to be at and it’s very welcoming to new staff.’

Postman, Anthony Graham, echoed Rebecca’s sentiments, saying: ‘It’s a great place to work with good camaraderie and great colleagues,’ while postman of 35 years, Malcolm Rose, said: ‘I’ve enjoyed my years here. We all work together, it’s a well organised and tidy office and currently has good leadership.’

Operations manager, Steve Scott-Rattray, had other things on his mind: ‘I enjoy visiting the office as I know I will always get fed!’
