Cleaning in progress

The work of our cleaning teams has increased to keep us safe from covid-19

The safety of colleagues is our number-one priority as we continue to deliver for our customers, country, and company.

Coronavirus has changed how all of us are working. As such, we have enhanced our cleaning regimes through increased frequencies and additional cleaning of high-contact touchpoints.

In addition, we have followed Public Health England (PHE) guidelines on products and protective equipment and we have implemented two new cleaning response standards.

Press play to see how we’re responding to the cleaning standards challenges posed by covid-19.

Senior SHE business partner, Richard Booth-Davey, said: ‘If the virus is on people’s hands or it comes out of their mouths via airborne droplets and lands on surfaces, then other people touch those surfaces, then themselves, their eyes, their mouths etc, they can obviously become infected. So, it’s absolutely critical that we keep on top of the disinfecting and cleaning of those areas.

‘Without the cleaners and the rest of the Properties & Facilities Solutions team that are helping to keep our buildings healthy, safe and compliant, Royal Mail wouldn’t be able to continue as effectively as it can.

‘So, a massive thanks to all those people who are going out to sites and continuing to give their all during these difficult times.’
