‘Just do it’
As part of our ongoing series of blogs from throughout the business, we’ll continue to bring you stories from colleagues who are doing their bit right across the operation, on how things have changed during the current crisis.
We have also started a new series of covid-19 vlogs, home-made videos that are a great way to hear what colleagues have been up to.
Press play to hear from Rowland Hill Fund (RHF) coordinator, Shan Lawrence.
‘For those colleagues, who are currently struggling at this very weird time, we really do want you to get in touch,’ said Shan. ‘If you’re pondering whether to get in touch with the Fund or not, please don’t. Just do it.
‘Whatever the reason, please do come to us, so that we can discuss whether we can help you during this difficult time.’
Our in-house charity, the Rowland Hill Fund, offers financial aid to current and former Royal Mail employees.
The Fund offers grants when bills become increasingly difficult to meet, because of unforeseen or changed circumstances such as illness. It can help towards rent, mortgage and utility bill arrears, disability aids, home modifications, hospital travelling expenses, funeral expenses, white goods, heating/boiler repairs and much more.
To apply to the Fund, you must:
- Be working for or retired from Royal Mail, Parcelforce or Post Office
- Have savings of less than £12K
- Have worked for one of the businesses for six months
- Be aware that we do not pay off credit card debts
