A healthier option

The Skinny Food Company founder explains how invaluable we continue to be

Companies continue to express their gratitude for the work we continue to do across the country.

Nottingham-based The Skinny Food Company has revealed the quality performance of Royal Mail in this unprecedented time is helping to keep the business going.

The company launched with the aim to start selling low sugar, low calorie, healthy alternative food and drink products.

It was founded in May 2018 by James Whiting and Wayne Starkey, who both have previous experience working in the food and drink/health and wellbeing market.

Having discovered a need for great tasting healthy products, the two originally launched the business to cater to those who struggle with finding healthy substitute foods. ‘We cater for people with specific dietary requirements,’ said Wayne. ‘For example, people with diabetes.

‘So many jams, chocolate spreads, sauces and syrups etc that are on the market are really high-sugared. We wanted to provide products with no sugar or little to no added sugar.’

Passionate about great tasting healthy food, the business now has a 500,000+ customer base and has been going from strength to strength.

‘We went from John pulling up in his Royal Mail van collecting his four sacks a day to literally having 16 york containers delivered every single day,’ said Wayne.

Like so many business owners, who are currently struggling during these challenging times, Wayne has emphasised just how important it is that we continue providing the unrivalled service that so many customers trust us to deliver.

‘I’ll send a trial sample just to myself every week to make sure it arrives intact,’ said Wayne. ‘And every single time, it arrives spot-on. Every Royal Mail worker out there is like our postwoman who comes to us every single morning.

‘It’s a true testament to the spirit of the UK and how everyone has come together in these sad times.’

Royal Mail colleagues can currently use the code: RMFREESHIP for free shipping on all The Skinny Food Company orders over £5.
