Ferry well done

New Ferry rated best performing large delivery office in the North

The team at New Ferry Delivery Office have received the CEO and COO Award for best performing Large Delivery Office in the North for Q1.

The new quarterly awards scheme, which is sponsored by Group CEO Rico Back and chief operating and finance officer Stuart Simpson, is based on the units that score most highly across four key areas of performance measurement: safety, First Class quality, cost and productivity.

At the end of the year, we'll be presenting awards to the overall ‘units of the year,’ recognising the best performing units nationally. Winners will receive money to spend at their unit.

New Ferry delivery office manager, Chris Nichol, said: ‘We as a team received the award from service delivery leader, Lee Martin, recognising the great results the unit has produced.

‘We have a really strong team work ethic within the unit at New Ferry. This helps to promote benchmarking between peers, which has been the foundation for us not only achieving customer metrics for quality of service and reduced customer complaints, but also productivity improvements.

‘Indoors, we’ve had an improved layout, while outdoors, better aligned workloads through the use of PDA Outdoor Actuals are giving customers the best possible experience, while keeping running costs low to maintain our efficiency performance.’

Postman Michael Gilligan, said: ‘We all feel really proud about being recognised for great results as it hasn’t happened previously and especially given the current climate.

‘It proves that colleagues are still very much valued for doing a great job. It’s great being recognised in this way.’
