Fall in good time

We can all play our part in managing the risk of slips, trips and falls

As the wintry weather continues, slips and trips continue to be a significant risk for colleagues, accounting for almost three quarters of our most serious injuries at work.

This month, we’re asking colleagues across the business to continue to focus on minimising slips, trips and falls and highlighting the specific risks that are most relevant to their functions.

Outdoor slips, trips and falls account for a number of broken bones, bruising and musculoskeletal conditions each year, while poor housekeeping and congested work areas can present hazards when performing tasks indoors.

Remember that managers and office-based colleagues are also susceptible to slips and trips so everyone has a role to play in identifying potential hazards in their workplace and demonstrating good housekeeping standards.
