‘Everyday legends’

‘I realise that you are all under a lot of pressure and really appreciate all you are doing’

As ever, colleagues have been demonstrating exactly why we’re the UK’s most trusted delivery provider and why our people are quite simply the best there are.

We’ve lost count of the number of tweets, emails, social media posts and written compliments we have received from customers letting us know just how special our people are in these unprecedented times. Below is just a small selection:

  • @RobShepherd13 - Hey @RoyalMail big public thanks to your colleague in rural North Devon who responded to a post I put on a local Covid-19 FB page and has now given his mobile number to my 73-year-old Dad, who lives alone, in case he needs any help in the coming months.
  • @Photos_in_Chile – Postman left a note through my parent’s door today. ‘Anything you need, or need help with, let me know.’ Go Postie, you rock. #postie #royalmail #humanity.
  • @abi_pritchard17 - As proud as I am to work for the NHS during these times, I just wanted to say that there are so many other key workers going unnoticed. My dad is a postman and there is no mention of how the virus is affecting Royal Mail staff or their service.
  • @RoswaldWalton – I know we owe everyone working for the NHS for everything they have done and are doing, but I also believe that we need to thank postal delivery services like the @RoyalMail, their staff will be delivering everything to those self-isolating, along with the rest.
  • @rachelhamada - Support for the people who are keeping everyone going, please! @RoyalMail @BorisJohnson.
  • @hannah_redler - Self isolation joy: my Friends membership pack from @RoyalAstroSoc has arrived. Also, ridiculously pleased @RoyalMail still operating.
  • @maja_cizmic - @navyveteran79 @Dosser62 @RoyalMail You lot are everyday legends. We might come to depend on the post very heavily in the upcoming!
  • @KatLilywhite - Appreciate the way @RoyalMail are handling deliveries now by leaving the parcel at the door and stepping away when you answer. Reducing risk to everyone and still providing a vital service.
  • @jennymarievegan - As a high-risker, these are some of the people I am VERY grateful for: My @RoyalMail post dude. My amazing doggy walkers. Everyone who works at my local mini @Tesco, the folks who come in to clean my apartment block. Obvs the @NHSuk and also my GP surgery. Heroes.
  • @JonathanMLeach - Yesterday, I had time to write a letter to my great aunt in Gloucestershire. It was good to craft a letter. Older people love letters. Our family are going to send postcards to family & friends (as long as #royalmail can continue to deliver) #coronavirus #kindness #backtobasics.
