Kneesy does it

As part of the 2020 Grad Challenge, which launched on 3 February, central region graduates have set themselves the ambitious fundraising target of £6,800.
Teams from the North, Central and South regions are currently battling it out to raise the most money per head, culminating in one event per region on Thursday 23 April.
Teams will be raising money to fund one young person each to take part in Action for Children’s groundbreaking youth mental health initiative, the Blues Programme.
From Sheffield to Cardiff and Bristol to Birmingham, the central region graduate managers are training hard to take on not one, but all three of Yorkshire`s highest peaks!
The infamous Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge will see the group walk 24 miles with a total ascent of 1,585 metres. They’ll take on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, which form part of the Pennine range.
Royal Mail graduate, Daniel Bullen, said: ‘Over the coming months, we’re planning to hold various fundraising events right across the central region, raising money for Action for Children’s Blues Programme.
‘But we also wanted to do something huge in addition. The Yorkshire Three Peaks are some of the largest mountains in the central region. We want to climb them in true Royal Mail style wearing frontline uniforms, so expect to see a few pairs of shorts regardless of the weather!’
Graduates throughout the central region kickstarted their fundraising with a successful Valentine’s Day bake sale (pictured), which saw colleagues in Chesterfield raise more than £140 with a fantastic selection of cakes.
‘Action for Children’s Blues Programme focuses its efforts on preventing mental health problems for children aged 13-19,’ said Daniel. ‘To date, more than 4,500 young people have benefitted from the programme, in part, from the money already raised by Royal Mail.
‘If all goes well on 23 April, we’ll hopefully have raised enough money to help support more children through the programme. If you would like to help us with our fundraising please click here. All donations are greatly appreciated.’
