Warblers welcome

The Mail Voice Choir is seeking new recruits for 2020

The Mail Voice Choir (MVC) is looking for new members to recruit to its ranks for 2020.

All are welcome – from novices to professionals. There’s no embarrassing audition. If you can read music that’s great but if not enthusiasm and a love of singing are the only entry requirements.

The choir rehearses weekly with professional voice coach, Darron Moore, from the Royal Opera House – the secret to their success when it comes to sounding pretty much pitch perfect at performances.

Business analyst, Elaine Whelan, joined the choir this month. She says: ‘It’s a great way to learn how to sing some well-known songs and the hour flies past. Everyone is very supportive and with not having to audition to join, the odd mistake is not frowned upon.

‘I’d definitely recommend it as a fun way to chill out after a day in the office.’

Becoming a member of the MVC provides an opportunity to take part in charity fundraising events, as well as socialise and network with colleagues who hail from a range of different functions across the business. Friends and family are also welcome to join.

Project manager and new joiner Nicola Zaninetti, said: ‘It’s been very welcoming and excellent fun for me as someone who hasn’t sung for many years. It’s really enjoyable and everyone is very friendly – I can’t fault it!’

  • Rehearsals have moved from 100VE London to room F2-05 at 185 Farringdon Road, and are held every Tuesday at 5.45pm
  • If you’re interested in joining the MVC, please email mvc@royalmail.com or contact Lisa White on 07889 945 914.
