Taking you further

National Apprenticeship Week – did you know?

This week is the 13th annual National Apprenticeship Week – a time to celebrate the contribution that apprentices make to Royal Mail and our future.

As well as young people who join Royal Mail at the start of their career, apprenticeships are also open to existing colleagues looking to develop their skills and knowledge in their current role.

Here are four things you may not know:

  • You can be any age and any level in the business to apply for an apprenticeship.
  • It must last a minimum of 12 months.
  • At least 20% of time is spent on off-the-job training.
  • More than 300 apprenticeships are available. You can search the apprenticeships available via the Institute for Apprenticeships website.

Royal Mail colleagues are currently doing apprenticeships in finance, sales, management, procurement, engineering, vehicle maintenance, project management, and more.

Look out for stories about some of our current apprentices on myroyalmail.com and your workplace screens this week.
