One to XI: Vicky Exley

Today’s former footballer is an England star with a World Cup goal

Vicky Exley is a postwoman in Rotherham, but has also been awarded 52 caps for England and played in the World Cup in China, where she scored and helped her team reach the quarter finals.

The Doncaster Rovers Belles star held down her job as a postwoman at the same time as playing international football, and has clocked up 21 years’ service for Royal Mail.

A recent half-time parade at Wembley before a record breaking crowd cemented Vicky’s position as a legend and pioneer of the women’s game.
