One to XI: Gavin Gordon

When Gavin Gordon suffered a severe hamstring injury, he gave up his footballing career to become a postman in Heckington.
Prior to that, the powerful centre forward played for a number of clubs, making his professional debut for Hull City at the tender age of 16. Gavin then moved to Lincoln and secured a £550,000 transfer to Cardiff before finishing his senior career at Notts County. He was just 28 when he was forced to retire.
During his spell at Cardiff, Gavin helped the club secure a promotion to the Championship, although he says in terms of team spirit, his highlight was when he was at Lincoln. Though his time at Lincoln was 20 years ago, people on his round still recognise him.
