A message of thanks

Action for Children thank colleagues for all their 2019 fundraising

According to our charity partner, Action for Children, 75% of adults with lifelong mental health issues first experience symptoms by 18.

Action for Children work hard to make a positive impact on the mental health of children and young people across the UK.

Thanks to your fundraising in aid of their pioneering mental health initiative, the Blues Programme, a massive 70% of pupils who have so far taken part in the initiative showed an improvement in their mental health and emotional wellbeing, with a specific decrease in depression.

Below is a message of thanks to you from our charity partner.

‘From everyone at Action for Children, thank you for all your hard work and support across 2019! For every bake sale, sky dive, raffle, and so much more, we are so grateful to everyone who has supported our partnership.

‘Royal Mail once again took the Ops Fundraising Challenge by storm, raising an incredible £180,000. Including matched giving, more than £330,000 will support almost 1,000 young people to benefit from the Blues Programme.

‘The six-week schools-based course is making a real difference to young people by providing them with the tools and techniques to support their mental health, both now and in the future.

‘Since the start of our partnership, 3,670 children have taken part in the programme, including one young person, who said:

“Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity. I’ve felt so much relief since taking part in the programme and now have tools that I will use for life to help me cope with difficult and emotional situations”.

‘Thanks again to everyone across Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide, we can continue to improve the mental health of young people across the UK. We hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year!’
