Don’t dilly dally

We’re reminding customers that our last posting dates for Christmas are fast approaching

With Christmas less than three weeks away, we’re reminding customers to send their festive greetings and gifts to loved ones both in the UK and abroad before our last posting dates.

We deliver post right up until Monday 23 December, but some of our last posting dates start today, so it’s important our customers are aware when the latest recommended posting dates are for the mail they need to send.

If you’re sending mail abroad, we recommend posting your letters or parcels as early as possible to avoid disappointment and ensure that they arrive at their intended destination in time.

While you have a little longer to get your mail into a postbox for UK deliveries, it’s always worth sending envelopes and packages as soon as you can to ensure their prompt arrival at our busiest time of year.

Latest recommended posting dates:

  • Wednesday 18 December – Second Class and Second Class Signed for
  • Friday 20 December – First Class and First Class Signed for and Royal Mail Tracked 48
  • Saturday 21 December – Royal Mail Tracked 24
  • Monday 23 December – Special Delivery Guaranteed

If you’re sending season’s greeting abroad, you’ll need to hurry as the last recommended posting date for sending mail to countries in Africa, the Middle East or Asia, is today, Monday 9 December.

For Cyprus and Malta, the deadline is Tuesday 10 December and for Eastern Europe (except Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia) the final date is Wednesday 11 December. For customers sending mail to Greece or Turkey, you have slightly longer, with the last recommended posting date for these countries being Thursday 12 December.
