Quality of Service

We exceeded our First and Second Class targets in the first half of the 2019-20 financial year

Our latest Quality of Service report for First and Second Class USO mail reveals that we have exceeded both our First and Second Class targets in the first half of the 2019-20 financial year.

  • We delivered 93.3% of First Class mail the next working day, against a target of 93%
  • We delivered 98.8% of Second Class mail within three working days against a target of 98.5%.

This covers the two quarters 1 April – 29 June 2019 and 30 June – 29 September 2019.

Roger Turvey, national quality and customer director, said: ‘We are delighted to have exceeded both our First and Second Class Quality of Service targets in the first two quarters of the year. This is testimony to the hard work of colleagues across the pipeline to maintain and drive up quality.

‘Things are going to get more challenging now that our peak period and the winter months are ahead of us. If we can keep this momentum going, we will be able to meet our full year target for the first time in three years. Everyone can help by focusing on safe and on-time delivery of each and every letter and parcel.’
