Short-term outlook for Royal Mail is challenging
As part of today’s half year results for 2019-20, we said the outlook, excluding elections, for letters business in the UK is challenging:
Economy and business uncertainty having an impact on UK business, especially letters. Outlook, excluding elections, is challenging.
Because of the economic outlook, expect addressed letter volume declines to be 7-9%, excluding elections, in 2019-20.
Overall, our UK business could possibly be break even or loss-making in 2020-21
