Unplug and play

This World Mental Health Day, Royal Mail and Action for Children are working together to deliver better youth mental health. Next week, we will be celebrating the two-year anniversary of the Blues Programme.
Mental health problems can affect anyone. One in eight children and young people struggle with mental health, while 75% of adults with lifelong mental health issues first experience symptoms by the age of 18.
Since the start of the Blues Programme in October 2017, more than 3,000 young people have taken part in the initiative. This is all thanks to colleagues up and down the country.
Please help spread awareness of mental health with your team this World Mental Health Day and take part in an activity to look after your own emotional wellbeing:
- Positivity jar: share positive thoughts and reflect on them at the end of the day
- Brighten up your day: wear something bright
- Sponsored switch off: turn off technology for an hour/a day
- Take time to talk: ask your colleagues, friends and family how they are today
Why not take some other ideas from Action for Children’s Unplug and Play pack, to promote positive wellbeing for yourself and your children? There are ideas for the whole family to get involved with.
