Our journey

Your October Courier is here – let’s work together to meet our customers’ needs

Our strategy - Journey 2024 - is all about meeting customer needs and growing our company, making it stronger in a changing world.

In your October issue of Courier, which begins landing at homes from Friday, we examine the five key pledges of our plan to return to growth. We want to invest £1.8bn in the UK by 2024.

If we work together, at pace, there will be job opportunities for all our people who can and want to work for Royal Mail. In addition, we will have a fairer working environment, we will deliver the Univeral Service Obligation for our country, we will invest in change to ensure a sustainable Royal Mail, and we will have the best terms and conditions in our industry.

We have honoured and want to honour our agreements. Let’s work together to make it happen.

Also in the issue:

  • National operations director, Simon Barker, and national service delivery director, Ricky McAulay tell us why now is the time to really work together
  • Manchester, Peterborough and Glasgow Mail Centres are the latest to begin their parcels automation journey
  • We take a look at two ways we bring in extra profits to the business, which you may not have heard of before.

And finally, our people make our business, and our graduate and apprenticeship programmes help give colleagues the best possible start to their careers here. Twelve budding engineers are starting their careers with us after rounding off three years of hard work.
