Helping our own

Next week is Rowland Hill Fund fundraising week, giving you the chance to raise money for our in-house charity.
The Fund helps Royal Mail employees both past and present. It is an independent registered charity, here to help colleagues and their dependants with financial and other assistance in times of need. It operates independently, fairly and without judgement.
Chief finance and operating officer, Stuart Simpson, said: ‘I am delighted to support our in-house charity, the Rowland Hill Fund, as they prepare for their fundraising week from 28 October to 2 November. The Fund is ready to help you and your family financially during times of need.
‘Recent support has been given to a family who needed help whilst travelling to visit their desperately ill two-year-old daughter in hospital, a contribution towards replacement windows for a colleague with cancer who also has a blind son and a wife with medical issues, funeral expenses for the wife of a colleague who tragically took his own life and a donation to a postman and his family who lost their home in a fire.
‘As you can see, the money they raise is essential for ‘helping our own’ and the fundraising week is your opportunity to support the Fund by having some fun and raising as much money as you can. Any funds raised will be reinvested directly into helping our colleagues.’
Next week we shall feature articles on myroyalmail.com, the intranet and in your local communication channels.
If you know someone who would benefit from help and support, contact the Fund via the confidential Rowland Hill Fund helpline on 0345 600 4586.
A RHF Fundraising pack and poster are available for colleagues to print off. You can request a charity bucket and other materials, such as posters and leaflets, by contacting the Fund directly:
