‘Thanks Ifor!’

To the anonymous driver in Inverclyde – we salute you sir

Ifor in Bangor, you’re doing a great job, Andy in Fleet, a ‘potential postperson of the month’, and Arthur in Chipping Campden, you made a customer’s week by being such a ‘genuinely lovely, helpful’ man.

Below is a selection of customer compliments sent in over the last few days.

Ifor Roberts – Bangor Delivery Office (pictured)

‘We wanted to tell you what a great job that our postman, Ifor, does! He always greets us pleasantly by name and goes out of his way to deliver our post promptly and safely. Thanks Ifor - we do appreciate it!’

Arthur – Chipping Campden Delivery Office

‘I truly cannot say enough how kind, obliging and caring Arthur was to me today. A box of fresh roses for a wedding on Saturday were incorrectly delivered and I sat waiting outside the closed office hoping someone would turn up to help me. Luckily for me, Arthur arrived soon after. He made various calls, offered me a cup of tea and was just a genuinely lovely, helpful man who didn’t seem even remotely frustrated to have me accost him when I was very stressed. Please thank him so very much from me - he has made my entire week by being such a kind person.’

Unknown - Cardiff Delivery Office

‘I'd like to thank the gentleman on shift on Wednesday 21st at 12.30 on Covent Street, for helping me get into my Mum's house while she was in distress and in need of medical attention. I didn't get a chance to thank him properly as emotions were running high, so I hope this message gets to him and he knows how grateful I am for his help. My mum is in hospital and will hopefully make a speedy recovery. A big thank you to the often overlooked postman!’

Andy – Fleet Delivery Office

‘Andy is one of the nicest persons I've met. He makes such an effort to get to know people (not just pop letters in letterboxes). He’s so friendly, willing to have a chat and reliable. He definitely should be considered as postperson of the month.’

Unknown - Inverclyde Delivery Office

‘I stopped and asked your postman for directions near St Columba’s High School in Gourock. He kindly got in his van and asked me to follow him in my car. He said he would show me the way as he was going that way anyway. It was a very kind and helpful thing to do. What a great asset to Royal Mail. Tell him thanks again - he helped a stressed-out mum!’

Paul Hughes – Chesterfield Delivery Office

‘He is very polite and helpful every time we answer our door to receive a parcel or letter. Just wanted to say thank you and keep up the very good work.’
