Roll up, roll up…

On Thursday 22 and Thursday 29 August, our charity partner, Action for Children, has volunteering opportunities up for grabs for up to four Royal Mail colleagues per opportunity to support one of their children’s services in London.
Both opportunities are to join Action for Children’s Hackney Young Carers service for arts and crafts days at the Curve Garden in Dalston.
Your role on the day will be to provide support to the young carers during the activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment throughout the session.
Volunteers provide vital support to hundreds of Action for Children services. Without the support of volunteers, many of the activities for children and young people in need would simply not be able to go ahead.
Volunteering is also a fantastic team building activity, and a great way to get out of the office with some of your colleagues.
Medway postman and community champion Tim Hyde did so last year and said: ‘It was great to get a chance to meet some of the frontline staff - they were all so friendly, professional and grateful for the work we were doing!
‘It was also a great chance to chat with colleagues about the charity and our reasons for getting involved.’
Please note that DBS checks for these opportunities can take up to four weeks, so if you are interested in volunteering, please email RoyalMail@actionforchildren.org.uk by Monday 26 August to confirm your interest.
