‘Incredibly moved’

Wigan OPG Mark Abram was diagnosed with a terminal brain cancer in April 2017, which devastated him and his family.
But when they heard the news, Mark's friends and colleagues sprang into action to support him and his family by hosting several successful fundraising events including the Wigan 10k run, a six-a-side football tournament and an '80s-themed fancy dress night.
Warrington Mail Centre work area manager, David Bowery, who has been best friends with Mark since childhood, said: ‘We followed this in 2018 by repeating the football tournament (which was much bigger and better thanks largely to Hindley Green FC, The Swan Hotel and DJ Mark Mullaney) and another Wigan 10k run. We also added the Tough Mudder Yorkshire event where four lads successfully took on the course.
‘We climbed Mount Snowdon in Wales (pictured) as our first event of 2019. We had a third football tournament in July, a further Wigan 10k run in September and an “Urban Revolution” obstacle course planned for October.
‘Both Mark and his wife Mandy continue to be incredibly moved by the amount of support they receive from their family, friends and beyond. Any support provided by way of donations or even volunteering to join in and help us raise money towards our £2,000 target would be very much appreciated.’
