HWDC early shift team host charity catwalk show as part of their Ops Challenge fundraising

The early shift team at Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre (HWDC) raised more than £1,000 for Action for Children, when they hosted a catwalk show in their canteen as part of their 2019 Ops Challenge fundraising.

Bob Lawrence, international operations communication & engagement lead, said: ‘The event was an absolute scream, with so many people dressed up and ready to strut down our makeshift catwalk. We decorated our canteen with balloons and there was music and sound provided too.

‘We also held a cake and samosa sale, but the main event was the catwalk with all sorts of characters appearing ranging from school children to Penelope Pitstop! The audience were amazing, clapping and cheering as those who dressed up paraded up and down the runway.

‘We had two judges who managed to make a decision that postman, Michael Khan's werewolf, postwoman, Carol Moor's union flag outfit and the early shift letters team were their favourites; but everyone who took part looked fantastic and really got involved.

‘Some small prizes were handed out to Michael and Carol, and the Letters team were treated to lunch by plant manager, Dan Tovey as their reward.’
