Six of the best
International operations director, Mike Sibley, discussed our new strategy at six Town Hall events at Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre (HWDC) and our International Logistics Centre.
Mike addressed more than 2,000 colleagues across the shifts at both units on Tuesday 16 July. Each of the two larger units had three sessions, one for each of the three main shifts, so that everyone could hear the same messages and get involved in the discussions.
Bob Lawrence, international operations communication and engagement lead, said: ‘We’ve been holding these sessions for the last few years and they have proved to be invaluable at engaging with our people face to face and keeping them informed about our plans to ensure International continues to change and grow to secure the future of our people.
‘We will be holding two further sessions at our London Airport mail unit on Thursday 18 July and then additional sessions at our Sac Vides processing unit and Gatwick Airport mail unit (GAMU) in the near future.
HWDC international operations director, Mike Sibley, said: ‘It’s the best part of my job when I’m engaging with our people. It’s great to speak to so many people over a 24-hour period and have those group discussions.
‘We discussed our recently announced strategy and how similar this is to our own international strategy, which we shared with our people in 2017, when we secured the lease for HWDC. We also covered the progress we have made with our transformation programme and the challenges we have faced throughout that journey, plus our Employee Survey 2019 results.
‘The question and answer sessions prompted many questions, some of which were quite challenging, but that’s why I like to hold these sessions – to get right to the heart of what our people are thinking and feeling as they come along with us on our change journey.
