The letter’s journey

Second year pupils at Lancasterian Primary School in Haringey, North London, have been treated to a visit by Lenny the Letter.
Colleagues Elliott Grunwell, Chariza Usana and Tim Hyde, from Medway Mail Centre, brought Lenny along to share the story of the journey of a letter.
Charity champion Tim said: ‘The children were told about the history of Royal Mail, and how a letter or parcel is processed and delivered through our network as well as the wide range of careers opportunities the business offers.
‘Both children and teachers really enjoyed the visit. It's always a pleasure to tell the Royal Mail story to the next generation of customers - the children were so enthusiastic throughout our visit and really hyped up by the end when we had a question and answer session – Lenny was very popular!’
On the following day the children went along to the Postal Museum next to our Mount Pleasant office, where they were given the opportunity to fact check everything Lenny had taught them.
Lancasterian School staff member, Hannah Lashley, said after the visit: ‘I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the team from Royal Mail who came to see our year two pupils.
‘They delivered a lovely child-friendly session, which the children really loved.’
