King of the North

2D scanning performance hits new heights in Belfast North - the fight for the throne goes on

2D or not 2D? Belfast North delivery line manager, Gerard Murray has more than answered that question with the hugely impressive 2D barcode scanning results across the BT13 and BT14 divisions.

By deploying the One Plan work package strands in a structured way and sustaining performance through utilising available resource the team achieved a strong pass at their recent ADE assurance.

The Belfast team had already demonstrated their KPI success with a 95% metric score. But rather than rest on their laurels they chose to take their performance to a whole new level by introducing league tables, incorporating duties from each division, and deploying a point scoring system.

Congratulations to OPG, Saidi Fatai (pictured), who topped the table for 2D scanning performance in BT14, and OPG, Michal Makuch, who did the same in BT13.

‘With the support of the divisional workplace coaches, who are responsible for updating the display boards and delivering the key learning points at the weekly 2D huddle communications, we have ensured that 2D barcode scanning remains a hot topic amongst the two divisions,’ said Gerard.

‘If anything, it has created an environment whereby we are competing head to head with each other to get that number one spot and be crowned “King of the North.” This has been no easy task as all 37 duties within the two divisions have hit their 2D barcode scanning targets!

‘We’re all extremely proud of our performance in 2D barcode scanning. There’s a buzz in the unit when the workplace coach is updating our display boards as they’re all fighting for that number one spot.’
