Hermes UK focuses on deliveries of larger items

Hermes UK is aiming to handle a 20% increase in parcels over 18kg by 20% this year, following demand from some of its largest customers.

Hermes UK currently offers deliveries of larger items through a separate dedicated van network, using contracted service partners. It is now looking to increase its range of services for larger items, providing more frequent deliveries and collections. This will be facilitated by additional independent drivers who are able to help Hermes achieve its service and emissions targets in major UK cities.

Hermes UK’s overall volumes increased by 13% to 335m parcels in 2018, primarily made up of small and light-weight parcels.

As part of our five-year ‘turnaround and grow’ plan, we are investing significantly in our network to handle more larger and later posted next day parcels. We are also combining the best of Royal Mail International and GLS to offer a global proposition in smaller and larger cross-border parcels.
