Choose Childhood

Act today to put children first - for hundreds of thousands of children in the UK, childhood hurts

Last month, Royal Mail’s chosen charity partner, Action for Children, joined a number of their key supporters to celebrate their 150th anniversary.

A number of Royal Mail colleagues were in attendance including Stuart Simpson, CFO and COO, David Gold, director of Public Affairs and Policy and Rob Cooksley, director of Procurement.

Stuart was part of the panel discussion, alongside Action for Children CEO, Julie Bentley, National Programme Lead for the Blues Programme, Sue Rogers, and one of the young people who has benefitted from and been supported by the Blues Programme. They discussed the importance of prioritising youth mental health, and the fantastic work that the Blues Programme has already achieved.

Guests from a range of different companies, organisations and committees caught a glimpse of Action for Children’s new brand and Choose Childhood campaign, which launched earlier this month, to raise public awareness of vulnerable children in crisis in the UK.

Choose Childhood

Every child deserves a safe and happy childhood. But in the UK too many children are saying that childhood is hurting. There are more children in care, social pressure is intense and more children have been identified as being at risk of harm.

But we can change this. Children don’t choose their lives; but we can choose to act. Government has been ignoring the needs of children for too long. It’s time our politicians made a choice.

Action for Children are urging government to commit to an urgent action plan to give every child a safe and happy childhood. That’s why we’re calling on people like you to join us and add your name to our campaign to Choose Childhood.
