Auction of support

Royal Mail colleagues’ fundraising efforts always play a big part, and that was the case when £15k was raised at an auction night amongt Royal Mail Group’s legal team and partner firms.

Our in-house charity, the Rowland Hill Fund, are ready to help financially when colleagues find themselves struggling. 

The Fund recently supported two colleagues, who were both in need of assistance, following devastating house fires.

Micky Sutherland (pictured), a beneficiary of the Fund and a postman of 30 years, was one of those who lost everything in a house fire while out on his round.

He attended the auction with his wife Gloria and recalled his ordeal. ‘Your life changes in a second and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone,’ he said.

Following the fire, Micky’s local office, Harrow, rallied behind him and raised £1,000 for his family.

The money raised at the annual auction will go directly to supporting our colleagues who need financial help.
