Ahead of the pace

HR director Sally Ashford hosted our latest Town Hall event at Greenford Mail Centre, talking colleagues through our transformation.

The theme of the session focused on what our five-year plan to ‘turnaround and grow’ in the UK means for colleagues.

Echoing many of the themes discussed at our last People Panel event at Mount Pleasant in London, Sally highlighted how increasing automation, improving dialogue with colleagues, trialling new ways of working, using modern tools and implementing revisions will help us grow as a business over the coming months.

Sally also spoke about the importance of everyone continuing to be as efficient and customer-focused as possible and explained how taking the larger parcels out of our core network, processing them through our new hubs and introducing separate van deliveries, will help free up capacity in the network to manage the increase in parcel volumes.

Sally answered a number of questions on a range of topics, including our new parcel hubs, technology and automation, offsetting the decline in letters and preparing for the continued growth in parcels, working together with the CWU and improving our customer service.
