Agadoo doo doo

Dale Partington from Huddersfield Delivery Office will be hitting the small screen tonight in the third episode of the award-winning Channel 4 show Ackley Bridge.
He responded to an advert for TV extras in the local paper last year, along with his three brothers and his dad, and they were all asked to appear in a pub scene in the new series.
He explains: ‘We’re in the pub and the song ‘Agadoo’ starts playing. We all had to start dancing along and doing the actions. We were all scruffily dressed in ripped jeans and hoodies. Meanwhile, some of the Murgatroyd family, who are one of the families in the series, are having an argument. I won’t say any more. You’ll have to watch it!’
He says it was really good fun but hard work. ‘We had to do the scene about 15 times until it was just right. Someone’s phone went off and we had to do it again. It was exhausting! It’s amazing how much work goes into making the programme.’
Dale got to meet some of the stars of the series, including actor Steve Money who he is pictured with above. He also had a look inside his old high school, which is now the setting for the school in Ackley Bridge. ‘The school closed a few years ago and now they’re using it for filming,’ he explains. ‘It was really weird being back there again!’
He says everyone at the delivery office is excited to watch the show on Tuesday, even if he’s not keen seeing himself on screen. Get your popcorn at the ready! Ackley Bridge is on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
